Zadie Golatt

Zadie Golatt, daughter of the late Robert and Priscilla Golatt, was born August 28, 1911 in Anderson, South Carolina. She attended public schools in South Carolina. After the birth of her only child, the late Edith Johnson, she relocated to Washington, D.C., where she found employment with the Federal Government as a Custodial Attendant at the U.S. Capital. After many years, she retired and began to spend quality time with her sisters and family.

Zadie attended the Greater Rock Creek Baptist Church, Washington, D.C. She was very active up to the age of 95 and participated in many recreational and social activities with groups of senior citizens where she resided. Zadie was quiet, reserved, strong-willed, and very independent. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

Zadie leaves to cherish her memory three grandchildren, Patricia Scott and Avis Spruill(Rugene)of Maryland and Faye Johnson of New Jersey. Seven great grandchildren, Robert Scott, Nate' Sillah (Liman), Patrice Johnson, Joshua Johnson, Charlene Barnes(Amir), Stephanie Spruill, and Kia Johnson and five great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
