Wyrter B. Baylor was the son of Annie Baylor Folks, born on October 29, 1925 in Caroline County, Va. He was educated in the Caroline County Public School System. After accepting Christ, he became a member of the Mt. Oni Baptist Church in Ruther Glen, Va.
Wyrt, as he was fondly referred to by so many went to work for the RF&P Railroad in March 1951 as a Gang Laborer. He retired after 36 years of service in November 1987 as a Foreman from Potomac Yard Extra Force, Alexandria, Va. He served in the United States Army from 1943 to 1946 and at the time of his discharge had advanced to the rank of Sergeant. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Emma Parker Baylor in July of 1968.
He was a member of the Ramblers Hunt Club where he took great pride in boasting of his marksmenship. He was also a active member of the Veterans of Foreign War, John R. Beverly Post 3125.
Wyrt is survived by his wife Emma Baylor of Ruther Glen, his mother Mrs Annie Baylor Folks of Bowling Green Healthcare Center, a daughter Sandra Cole of Washington,D.C.; a son, Robert ''T.J.'' Baylor of Sandston, Va.; a step-daughter, Marilyn Bailey of Ruther Glen, Va.; a step-son, Norman Parker of Fredericksburg, Va.; 2 step-daughters-in-laws; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Mrs Mary Dorsey of Ruther Glen, Va.; 3 brothers-in-laws; 4 sisters-in-law; a devoted cousin and friend Wayne Smith of Ruther Glen, Va.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
