Willie George Whiting

Willie George Whiting of King George County slipped into eternal rest on December 3, 2004 after a long illness at Heritage Hall Healthcare. He was born March 28, 1934 to the late Spencer and Ruth Whiting in Caroline County.

Willie worked as a Care Taker on Woodlawn Plantation for many years. He joined the Salem Baptist Church at an early age.

Survivors inlcude his wife, Elizabeth Whiting of King George, Va.; one son, Irving Whiting of King George, Va.; four daughters, LaVerne Brooks, Roberta Harper, Christine Whiting and Linda Grady all of King George, Va.; nine grandchildren, Billy Shanklin, Charlane Brooks, Victoria Smith, Wykina Brooks, Layne Harper, Jr., Lance Harper, Shannon White, Belinda Grady and Charles Haskins all of King George, Va.; four great grandchildren; two son-in-laws, Johnny Brooks and Layne Harper, Sr. both of King George; one special and devoted nephew, Robert Whiting of King George, Va.; eight sisters, Irene Jefferson, Estelle Bumbrey, Helen Johnson,
Gladys Pryor, Winnie Bell Pryor all of King George; Dorothy Washington of Port Royal, Va.; Catherine McDowney of Colonial Beach, Va. and Mabel Yancy of New Jersey; four brother-in-laws, Willie Jefferson, Freddie McDowney, Lloyd Washington, Jr. and Winfield Shanklin; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
