Wayne M. Payton

Wayne M. Payton went home to be with the Lord on November 16, 2012 at the Medical College of Virginia. He quietly laid his head in God's bosom and went to sleep.

Wayne was preceded in death by his father Stanley M. Payton, Sr. and his brother Russell E. Payton.

He was born on January 25, 1961. He accepted Christ at an early age at the Grace Brethren Pentecostal Church where he was baptized.

Wayne attended Colonial Beach Public Schools and upon leaving he joined the Navy, where he served four years. In the face of trials and tribulations he always found a reason to laugh and smile.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving mother, Eulalia Payton; two sisters, Rennay Payton-Fields (David) of Colonial Beach, Virginia and Janice Payton of Maryland; four brothers, Stanley Payton, Stacy Payton, Corey Payton, all of Colonial Beach, Virginia and Golden Payton of California. He also leaves to mourn, six aunts, Katherine Payton, Rupertha Jordan (Johnny), Janice Kelly, Desiree Roy, Anna Roy, Georgia Roy; three uncles, Sterling Payton, Freddie Payton (Lena), and Terry Roy (Kim). He will be remembered and loved by five nieces; eight nephews; one great-niece; two great-nephews and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
