Walter Lewis Robinson was born on February 24, 1943 in Essex County, Virginia to the late James and Mary Robinson Nickens. He departed this life suddenly after a long illness on January 16, 2005 at his home.
Walter was educated in Caroline and Essex County Public Schools. At an early age he was baptized at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Supply, Va. He worked as an construction laborer until his health failed.
Walter was joined in holy matrimony to the former Barbara Saunders. From this union a daughter was born. Two sisters preceded him in death, Pearl and Fannie, three brothers, Gilbert, James and Ryland.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a daughter, Jacqueline Robinson Johnson of Clinton, Md. and son-in-law Larry (L.J.); one son, David Rich of New Jersey; ex-wife, Barbara Robinson of Clinton, Md.; two grandsons, Jaden and David Jr.; six sisters, Gladys Johnson (Malchia) of Bowling Green, Va.; Lola Henderson (George) of Palmyra of New Jersey; Helen Morgan of Trenton, New Jersey; Emma Childs (McArthur) of Bowling Green, Va.; Addie Fortune of Port Royal, Va.; Dorothy Coleman of Hustle, Va.; one sister-in-law, Betty Nickens of Trenton, New Jersey; two devoted nephews, Lewis and Brian Coleman who cared for him; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
