Walter Emory Bailey

Walter Emory Bailey, the son of the late Walter L. & Ida F. Bailey was born in Philadelphia, PA on November 8, 1949. He departed this life on Thursday, January 3, 2013 in Hunter Holmes McGuire Hospital in Richmond, VA after a short illness.

He received his education at Essex County High School in Tappahannock, VA and continued at Virginia Union University in Richmond, VA. He served his country in the U.S. Army, receiving an honorable discharge in 1972 and continued serving his country in the U.S. Army Reserves for many years.

His training in the military help prepare him for technical aspirations. He was known as a helpful and giving person, someone who had great skills with his hands and knowledge of mechanical, electrical and automotive fields.

He was a loving devoted son who was primary care giver for his Mother and Father for over 20 years.

Walter leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter, Patrice Jordan; two grandchildren, Janiya and Jamari; one brother, James L. Bailey of West Chester, PA; two sisters, Ernestine V. Bailey of Alexandria, VA and Linda B. Shelton (Ronald) of Oakland, CA. His sister, Doris R. Bailey preceded him in death. One aunt, Robinette F. Young of Hustle, VA; one uncle, Oliver C. Fortune (Gladys) of Port Royal, VA; three nieces, one nephew, three great nephews and a great niece and a loving devoted companion Jeanne Sheets and a large number of cousins, relatives and friends.
