The world was blessed with a special child, Virginia Mae
Daughtry, on October 29, 1924. She was born in North Carolina
to proud parents, James and Eulah Daughtry. At the blessed age
of 98, Virginia heard the Master’s call and transitioned from
earth to reward on Friday, December 2, 2022.
Mother Virginia grew up in the Bronx, New York City,
graduating from Walton High School. She went on to further
her education and graduated from Manhattan Dental Hygienist
and Dentist Assist School. Using her skills and education,
Virginia was employed as a dental hygienist. She worked for the
U.S. Public Health Clinic as a supervisor until 1975. After
several years, she became employed with the Central
Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the federal government. In that
capacity, she was stationed overseas and traveled extensively on
behalf of our nation.
Virginia Daughtry married John Bushrod in September 1956,
honoring their vows until his passing in 1974. She became a
member of Peace Lutheran Church in King George, Virginia in
1976. She loved the Lord and enjoyed the worship experience
and fellowship.
After a few years as a widow, Virginia married another good
Christian man in 1988, Deacon Robert Thomas Drummond.
They travelled and showed their love for the Lord through their
hard work in the churches. They shared their lives together until
2014 when her loving husband passed away.
Sister Virginia Mae Daughtry Bushrod Drummond leaves loving
memories to her stepdaughter Janice Drummond and her
husband Harold Murray; their sons David Lee and Brandon; and
her stepdaughter Shellie Drummond, her child Michelle Domond
(Paul), and grandchildren Joseph and Rebecca Hill.
Other survivors to cherish memories of Virginia are her sister in-law
Mrs. Idabell Bushrod, her sons Tony and Jerry Bushrod
and their spouses and children; goddaughter, Adena Bushrod and
her son Devin, and a host of other family and friends who loved
her dearly.
