Virginia L. Brown

Late on the evening of Monday, November 28, 2016 almighty God with his loving grace and mercy waved his hands and dispatched his divine angels to escort Virginia Lucille McDaniel Brown, while removing her sword and shield of life's battlefield. She took flight from the pain and worries of this earthly life.
"Mom Brown" as she was affectionately known to all who knew her was born in Darlington, South Carolina. As a little girl she was also known as "Red" from both her complexion as well as all of her time being spent playing in the red clay hills of South Carolina. Virginia later moved from South Carolina to Richmond, VA where she aided her mother in domestic work. After a short period she matriculated to Philadelphia, PA where a wealth of Education and new job opportunities were afforded to her as she worked until retirement in the public school system.
"Mother Brown" surrendering and acceptance of Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior as she sang in the choir at Rome Emmanuel Baptist Church in Philadelphia was the beginning of a life of love and a wealth of joy. She later moved membership to Greater Mt. Vernon Baptist Church where she faithfully served as Sunday School Superintendent, choir soloist and mother board.
"Mom Brown" enjoyed watching the Westerns. She referred to them as cowboys. She loved sports and knew the rules of football, baseball and basketball. She also loved to shop with her daughter, "Nearldean". Absolutely nothing took 1st place to her praising, worshiping, and studying the word of God. Every church her Godson Rev. Ernest Woodson pastored she became a faithful member. Her last duty station here on earth was the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Spotsylvania, VA.
Virginia married Rev. Raymond Brown of Philadelphia, PA and had a son Kenneth Jackson Brown (deceased) known to all as "One Son" was just the beginnings of the universal family that God gave her. There are many that call her mother, grandmother and god mother. She believed God had gifted her with a spiritual magnetic drawing to all who needed temporary or long term motherly love. Her supporting scripture was Hebrew woman of valor Ruth 3:11 translated that God has provided all that you need and the village knows you are a woman of strength.
Virginia was born July 11, 1924 to the late Loren McDaniel and Carrie Green Smith in a time when the strength of the Lord was your guide and your all and all. Virginia had two sisters and two brothers (all deceased), one daughter Nearldean Woodson (Rev. Ernest) and grandson Brandon Woodson, all of the home, one nephew Alphonso Brooks of Richmond, VA, a host of relatives from Florence, SC, Philadelphia, PA. and Virginia.
The son went down on this side for mother and she "No Doubt" was present with the Lord.

Lovingly submitted, The Family!
