Vertis ''Bicky'' C. Saunders

Vertis C. Saunders known to many as ''Bicky'' was born May 30, 1926 to the late Annie Maude Holmes in Caroline County. He departed this life after a brief illness on Friday, August 19, 2005 at 1:50 p.m. at Riverside Tappahanock Hospital. At an early age he accepted Christ and joined the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Supply, Va. He was a WWII Army Veteran. He moved from Supply, Va to Brooklyn, NY where he resided over 20 years. Upon returning back to Fredericksburg he was joined in matrimony to the former Nellie Wilson of Waycross, Ga. He was employed as a taxidriver for Bumbrey Cab Service in Fredericksburg for over 10 years.
He leaves to cherish his memory wife Nellie Saunders, Supply, Va;1 stepdaughter, Doris Johnson, Supply,Va (Richard);2 step grandchildren, Sabrina Clinton and Maurice Martin; 3 step great grandchildren, Calvin Walker, Larry Drumgold, and Tiffany Walker; 4 great great grandchildren, Marquis Rollins, Natasha Walker, Savannah Walker, and Malachi Drumgold; one sister Vaulrie Armstead and a host of nieces,nephews, and cousins.
