Tina M Roper

Tina M. Roper entered Heaven's gate on Thursday, April 21, 2016, at the Saint Mary Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. She was born on January 29, 1959 to the late Shirley Johnson. Tina was the oldest of four children and the oldest grandchild to the late Hattie Johnson.
Tina was educated in the Trenton, New Jersey and Essex County public school system. She became a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church through baptism at an early age. Tina enjoyed cooking, watching old movies, dancing and hosting big Holiday Dinner's for her sons and family; Tina had a sharp mind and a sharp eye for cooking, she could cook anything.
Tina began working at an early age at the State of New Jersey Lottery Commission, General Service Administration in New Jersey, Unique Binders Incorporated, Marketfare Food Inc., and Buster's Place in Virginia.
Tina was a kind and loving person who enjoyed life. She would help anyone who needed her: She was preceded in death by her son Bruce W. Johnson. She leaves to cherish her memory her three sons; James Johnson (Melinda) of Philadelphia. PA, Tyron Johnson (Michele) of New York, Howard Roper (Keisha-Ann) of Richmond, VA, six grandchildren Dajuwan, Justin, Mason, Ty'annah all of Philadelphia, PA, Kai and Genesis (ladybug) of Richmond Virginia, sisters Magdelena Johnson of Richmond, VA, Denise Reed (Greg) of New Jersey, one brother Michael Johnson (Theresa) of New Jersey, five nephews; Jamar, Brandon, Trevor, Ethan and Caleb, two nieces Amber and Alivia and one great niece Ahkira, one godson Linje Johnson of Washington, DC and a host of Loving Aunts, Uncles, step brothers/sisters, friends, and caregiver Stephanie Morrison.
