Theresa Montes Orr-Brown, the younger of two children, was born May 28, 1953 in Orlando, Florida, to James C. Orr and to the late Martha Cooper Orr.

She was educated in Orlando, Florida. She was a caring sister a devoted and loving mother and had a keen interest in her grandchildren. After graduating from Jones High School, she attended the Jones Business College and the Valencia Community College in Orlando, Florida. Theresa was a career soldier, joining the U.S. Army Reserves in September 1979 where she remained until her death. She obtained the rank of Sergeant First Class. Because she lived a military life, Theresa moved to Italy and upon returning to this country resided in various states including, Virginia and New Jersey. In her pursuit of educatioinal advancement, she earned several degrees and numberous certificates. Theresa earned and Associates of Arts degree from Rappahannock Community College in Warsaw, Virginia and a Bachelor of Science degree from the Saint Paul's College in Lawrenceville, Virginia. She held several civilian positions with the Department of the Navy and was employed at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren, Virginia until her health failed. She has held several military assignments including Drill Sergeant.

Theresa began her Christian walk at an early age. She was baptized at the St. John Baptist Church in Orlando, Florida. After moving to King George, Virginia she joined the People's Union Baptist Church under the pastorate of the Reverend Harry Wallace and later joined the Mount Carmel Baptist Church where she attended regularly until her health failed. She was a faithful member and an avid bible student. She was a graduate of the Institute of Biblical Studies and continued in the Advanced Studies in Prophecy program at Liberty University, Lynchburg, Virginia. Theresa loved her church and was excited about her continued growth in the Lord.

September 1, 2000, Thesa married Ahmar Stephenwoof. In addition to being blessed with a loving husband she gained a best friend who was instrumental in helping her togrow closer to the Lord. She was especially excited about their growing together in God's grace. She was poor in health for the last few years of her life, but never complained, bearing her illness patiently and gracefully with a strong determination to keep going in spite of her failing health. Peacefully, our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, love one, and friend, Theresa , finished her course on Saturday, November 27, 2004 at her home in King George, Virginia.

She leaves to celebrate and thank God for her beautiful life: her loving husband and best friend, Ahmar, a daughter Muzette Harris (Orlando FL), father James Orr (Chicago IL), one siter Sondra Odrr, three grandchildren, Kwame, Dantrel and Ah-meir Harris, two aunts Celia Bullard and Mary Howard, two nieces Lovette Stephens and Shellonda Vinson (Orlando, FL), three sister-in-laws Robert Ann McCormick, Vicki Harris and April McCormick, two brother-in-laws Purdie McCormick and Marco Harris (Maryland) and a host of cousins, great nieces, great nephews other relatives and friends.
