Sylvia Roberta Taliaferro Gayle

Sylvia Roberta Gayle was born on October 31, 1909, to the union of Robert L. Taliaferro and Ada Taliaferro. She worked in the domestic field for many years. She went home to be with the Lord on May 17, 2002. She was a faithful member of Isle of Patmos Baptist Church for many years until she became ill.
Sylvia Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, two sisters, one son, Leslie, and her devoted daughter, Sarah Marie Cater.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her brother, Arnold Taliaferro; one sister-in-law, Helen Taliaferro of Washington, DC; two sons, Robert Gayle of Arlington, Virginia, Roy Ross of Richmond, Virginia; one daughter-in-law, Arnisa Ross, Richmond, Virginia; grandchildren, Ray, Cathy, Reggie, Carol, Daisy, Roy, Jr., Tim, Roberta, Jamal, Carla, Anthony, Vonda; sixteen great-grand children, and a host of nieces and nephews.
