A precious one from us has gone. A voice we love is still. A place is vacant in our hearts that never can be filled.

On Sunday, January 5, 2014, Susie Carpenter Bland slipped into a peaceful rest as angels carried her home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. God saw her pain and struggle for life and called her home for eternal rest.

Susie Bland was born in Goldvein, Virginia to the late Rowena Manual and Ervin Carpenter. She attended public school in Fauquier County and was baptized at Clevers Oak Baptist Church in the county. She later joined Little Ark Baptist Church and was a faithful member until her health declined.

Susie Bland was married to the late John Arthur Bland, Jr.. To this union, seven children were born.
Loving memories of Susie Bland will be cherished by five daughters, Mary Evans, Christine Drayton, Shirley Bland, Barbara Patterson, and Joyce Bland; a son Ervin Bland; two daughter-in-laws Laura and Karen Bland; and one son-in-law Jerome Patterson. She also leaves a sister Lillie Edwards; three sister-in-laws, Adelle, Ruth and Lenora Bland; one brother-in-law, Wallace Edwards; grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grand children, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. One son Eugene Bland and one grandson Jerry Bland preceded her in death.
