Stephanie A Jackson

For we walk by faith, not by sight
We are confident, I say, and willing rather
To be absent from the body, and
To be present with the Lord
2nd Corinthians 5: 7-8

Stephanie Angela Jackson, daughter of Daniel L. Jones and the late Cora B. Jackson, was born on January 25, 1965 in Westmoreland County, VA. She peacefully transitioned into God's Glory on August 27, 2014 at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, MD.
Stephanie accepted Christ as her savior, early in her childhood. It was then that she became member of Little Zion Baptist Church in Oak Grove, VA. Stephanie received her education in the Westmoreland County Public School System.
Throughout Stephanie's life, she was a very passionate and affectionate care giver for her family and friends. Stephanie devoted countless hours preparing home-cooked meals for various homes in Prince George's county. For seven years, she also served as a school bus aide for Prince George's County Public Schools.
Even as her health continued to decline, she relentlessly moved forward to do whatever she could for her family and friends. Step will be most remembered for her well-known responses: "What is it now you want" and "Go sit down somewhere".
"Step" as she was affectionately called by family and friends, loved listening to music and watching her stories: The Young and The Restless, Steve Harvey and The Haves and the Have Nots - just to name a few. She was also a diehard Dallas Cowboys Fan. She had many hobbies but her favorite thing to do was organize family gatherings and to whip up some of her well-known seafood pasta salad and fried chicken.
Stephanie was preceded in death by: one sister, Cora Lynn; one step sister, Janet and three brothers: Davie, Robert and Thomas.
Fond memories of Step will be cherished by; her father, Daniel Jones and stepmother Agnes, of Colonial Beach, VA; two sisters: Carleen James (Douglas), of Ft. Washington, MD, Ella Plowden, of Bladensburg, MD; two step sisters: Robyn Cobb, of King George, VA and Sonya Carr (William), of Washington, DC; seven brothers: Charles Jones (Louise), of Clinton, MD, Calvin Jackson (Lovieta), of Lancaster, VA, Raymond Jones (Annie), Joseph Jackson Sr. (Donna), of Colonial Beach, VA, George Jackson Sr., Kevin Jackson (Karen), of Spotsylvania, VA, Dennis Jones of Lexington Park, MD and two sisters-in-law Audrey of Arlington, VA and Patricia of Clinton, MD. Her legacy and memories are also shared by five aunts: Thelma, Mary Alice, Rose Marie, Evelyn, all of Colonial Beach, VA., Beatrice of Fort Washington, MD.; eight uncles: Charles, Thomas Sr., Milton, Marvin, William Sr., of Colonial Beach, VA., Raymond Sr., of Stafford, VA., Moses, Joseph Sr., of Colonial Beach, VA., and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins. Step held very dear to her heart - her Aunt Beatrice and Uncle William Berry, their two children: Cynthia Fauntleroy (Kevin) and Stephen Berry, and their children.
