Shirley Marie Brown

On the evening of April 28, 2016, God dispatched His angels from heaven and touched the brow of our loved one and said " It's time to come home".

Shirley M. Royall Brown was born on January 26, 1946 in Wayne County, North Carolina to the late James and Mary Royall. Her son Antoine (Tony) Royall preceded her in death. She was educated in the public school system in the State of North Carolina. Shirley worked at the Patent and Trade Office in Alexandria, Virginia for over thirty six years.

Shirley married the love of her life, Henry Brown on August 26, 2006.

Shirley professed her faith in God at an early age. She attended Union Bethel Baptist Church with her husband. While attending Union Bethel she joined the choir and participated in other ministries.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband Henry Brown of Camp Spring, Maryland; three children – Mary Hunter and Thurman Royall (Barbara) of Goldsboro, North Carolina; the late Antoine (Tony) Royall (Benita) of Woodbridge, Virginia; seven stepchildren – Sylvester Brown of Colonial Beach, Virginia, Kathy Day (Rev. Day) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Sandra Valentine (Jimmy) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Lionel Johnson of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, the late William Brown (Tina) of Bowie, Maryland, Karen Bryant of District Heights, Maryland, and Carmen Rodriquez of Raleigh, North Carolina; fifteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother-in-law Charlie Shanklin and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Shirley Brown's compassion, dedication, kindness, presence and unconditional love will sorely be missed. She always exhibited a love for God and life through her caring and sharing. She was a strong mother figure to everyone she encountered.
