Shirley Ann Johnson

Shirley Ann Johnson, was born on September 24, 1942 in Richmond, VA. and raised by Emma Gay and Deli Braxton. She departed her life peacefully on Friday, September 11, 2020 at Memorial Regional Medical Center.

At an early age, she joined the Mount Olive Baptist Church, Newtown, Virginia. On May 14, 1961, she was joined in Holy Matrimony to Linwood Johnson who was her devoted husband of 39 years. From this union, two sons were born. She was employed for 33 years with King & Queen Public Schools as a bus driver. She retired in 1999 due to her health issues.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Linwood L. Johnson. She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Leon C. Johnson (Phyllis), Linwood A. Johnson (Mary), a granddaughter, Trayanna S. Johnson, two sisters, Margaret Washington (Henry), Sylvia Robinson, three brothers, James Nelson (Cherly), Hodges Nelson (Hilda), Conrad Braxton (Marion), a host of nieces, nephews and cousins who she cherished, along with three special friends, Ella Mae Braxton, Rachel Hill and Ozzell Johnson.
