Shanta D. Scott

Shanta Denise Scott daughter of Polly Scott and Lloyd Brown was born on March 7, 1995, departed this life on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Virgina. She is preceded in death by one brother, DeVon Howard.

Shanta was a sophomore at Courtland High School in Spotsylvania County, she was on the basketball team, which was one of two hobbies her other hobby was dancing. She loved dancing the day away. Every day she would quote to her grandmother who she affectionately called "Mama", "I am going to go college to play basketball and buy you a house."

She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted grandmother Mozelle Keys(Mama) of Spotsylvania, Virginia; mother Polly Scott of Spotsylvania, Virginia; father Lloyd Brown of Stafford, Virginia; brothers Patrick Keys and Jermaine Washington of Spotsylvania; sisters LaToya Washington of Fredericksburg, Alexis Scott of Spotsylvania, Ashley Howard of Spotsylvania; Step-brothers DyRone Minor of Spotsylvania, Jerome Berryman of Stafford, Step-sisters Renee Berryman of Stafford, Tiffany Yerby of Richmond; nephews TreVon Kandeh, and DeVerion Hayley and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends and a devoted Aunt Ernestine Pollard of Spotsylvania.
