Sedora Gwathmey DeLeaver quietly passed away into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 in the peace and comfort of her home.

On October 26, 1944, Sedora was born to Essie Braxton Gwathmey and the late Deacon Roscoe A. Gwathmey, Sr, in Upshaw (Aylett), Virginia.

During the years she lived in Richmond, Virginia, Sedora was employed by C & P Telephone.

In 1971, she and her family relocated to Maryland. There she joined Severn Baptist Church, now the Church of Severn Run. At the Church, she was a faithful and dedicated servant.

Upon moving to Maryland, she also started her Daycare business in her home, where she cared and nurtured children for over thirty years. She actively participated with the Head Start Weekly Reader Program.

Sedora loved reading and studying the word of God. Her love of caring for flowers and plants was apparent not only in her home, but in her church as well. One of the highlights of her life was time spent baking and gardening with her granddaughter, Alex.
