As we celebrate the life of Sandy Ward Freeman, we do so with very fond memories. The value of life cannot be measured by longevity alone, but in ones love and the impact upon the lives of others.

Sandra Ward Freeman, also affectionately known as "Sandy" was born on May 12, 1970, to Betty A. Ward and Charles Byrd. She entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 10, 2012.

Sandy accepted Christ at an early age and joined St. Stephen's Baptist Church in King George, Virginia, where she was baptized by Reverend William Bumbrey.

Sandy was united in holy matrimony to her husband, Kenneth B. Freeman on May 26, 2001.

Sandy was employed at City Hall in Fredericksburg, Virginia and currently employed by King George County, where she was the Information Technology Manager for 11 years. She was dedicated and devoted to her job for over twenty years and enjoyed working with computers. Her job allowed her to get through her illnesses and weekly dialysis treatments.

On July 10, 2012, Sandy was called home to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Frank and Irene Ward; paternal grandparents, Emerson and Francis Byrd and recently, a day before her death, her father-in-law, Bernard C. Freeman. She leaves to cherish a devoted husband Kenneth B. Freeman of King George , Va.; a loving mother, Betty A. Ward of King George, Va.; a father, Charles Byrd of Hustle, Va.; mother-in-law, Faye W. Freeman (Bernard) of Ruther Glen, Va.; Kenny's grandmother, Rebecca J. Wooden of Disputanta, Va.; sister-in-law, Keisha F. Freeman Ruther Glen, Va.; sisters, Tasha Steward, Christy Byrd-Fample, Charley Byrd and Christina Byrd all of Tappahannock, Va.,; a great-aunt, Francis Washington of Washington, DC; aunts, Doris Veney (Randolph) and Clara Ward both of King George, Va.; Shirley Ward of Washington, DC; Virginia Brown (Aubrey) of Port Royal, Va.; Darlene Smith of Caret, Virginia and Jackie Byrd of Hustle, Va.; uncles Bobby Byrd (Joyce) of Ruther Glen, Va.; Billy Byrd (Alease) of Loretta, Va.; a very close cousin and best friend, Wanda Parson (Craig) of Colonial Beach, Va.;Natalie Kay of Charlotte, NC.; a very special friend, Shawn Coates(Darnell) of Spotsylvania, Va.; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and co-workers.
