Russell Everette Payton departed this life on November 14, 2002 at The Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC.
Russell was born on April 16, 1962 to Stanley Mark Payton and Eulalia R. Payton. He accepted Christ at an early age under Pentecostal Pastor Palmer. Russell graduated from Colonial Beach High School. He loved science and math. In his senior year, he placed 1st in the Rappahannock Area Science Fair. Russell belonged to the Junior Volunteer Rescue Squad and was a member of the Masons. He attended The University of the District of Columbia.
Russell was a Computer Specialist with Voices of America in Washington, DC, until he was forced to retire because of his health.
He loved life and lived it to the fullest. Russell enjoyed traveling, playing tennis, cooking and especially eating. He touched so many lives with his jokes and laughter.
Russell Everette Payton leaves to cherish his memories: his father, Stanley Mark Payton of Washington, DC; his mother, Eulalia R. Payton of Colonial Beach, Virginia; five brothers, Stanley, Stacy and Corey Payton of Colonial Beach, Virginia, Wayne Payton of Montross, Virginia and Golden Payton of Washington, DC; two sisters, Janie Payton of Clinton, Maryland and Rennay Payton Fields of Colonial Beach, Virginia.; one great-uncle, Dempsey Roy; one great-aunt, Julia Watts of Washington, DC; six uncles, Sterling Payton, Freddie Payton, Rev. Otis Roy, Jerry Roy, Terry Roy and Johnnie Jordan; seven aunts, Rupertha Jordan, Janice Kelly, Catherine (Kitty) Payton, Sandra Payton, Desiree Roy, Georgie Roy and Kimberly Roy; one Godson Nikk his nephew, Lamar who renicknamed Russell as Uncle Scussell; and a host of cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
