Roger Lee Wood

Roger Lee Wood of Fredericksburg, VA, formerly of Halifax, VA was born on January 20, 1948, to the late Willie and Edith Powell Wood. Roger departed this life early Monday morning July 26, 2010 at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA.

He was educated in the Halifax County Public Schools and later relocated to Washington, DC Metropolitan area. He was a devoted employee at CVS distribution center for 39 years before he retired in 2010. He united in holy matrimony to Sylvia Holly Wood and to this union two daughters were born.

He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters Tara Wood Smith (Derek) and Kendra Wood, Upper Marlboro, MD.; granddaughter Taylor, one brother Bran Wood (Regina) Accokeek, MD.; two sisters Barbara Wood Davis and Cathy Wood Walton (Kenneth) both of Halifax, Va.; six aunts Dorothy Ragsdale, Maple Palmer, Rachel Edmonds all of Halifax, VA.; Lillie Reed (Jesse) of Baltimore, MD., Janie Walker (Harold), Francis Womack (Frank) Brooklyn, NY. Devoted friend Ruth "Nat" Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
