Roger Carter Deyo, Jr.

April 9, 1961 — March 3, 2012

Roger Carter Deyo, Jr.

On March 03, 2012, Roger C. Deyo, Jr., affectionately known as "Pete", was called to glory after an enduring battle with bone cancer. He was born in Richmond, Virginia on April 09, 1961 to Daisey Mae and Roger C. Deyo, Sr.

He and his brother, Ralph and his sister, Barbara attended Alexandria County Schools, and enjoyed a host of family and friends in his parents' hometown in Sparta, Caroline, and King & Queen Counties. He joined First Mt. Olive at an early age. He loved God dearly, and could be found faithfully enjoying a Sunday morning broadcast of spirituals while cooking breakfast and humming his favorite hymn. He had a magnetic personality, was the life of the party, and knew how to make others smile.

He was a skilled worker, with a mechanical ability that amazed most. He touched many lives with his bubbling sense of humor, giving spirit, and compassionate heart.

He is survived by his loving mother Daisey, his wife Barbara Davis-Deyo, one son, Roger Carter Hargrow, four grandchildren, Eli, Tajalyn, Kalaigha and Donovan, a step son and stepdaughter Sean and Iris Dixon, two sisters, Barbara Deyo-Kimble (Willie) and Sharon Harvey, one brother, Ralph Deyo, one nephew Jose Deyo, two neices, LaShae Deyo and Jamee Kimble, three great nephews, Isiaha, Zeven, and Zion Deyo, one great niece, Zariaha Deyo, five uncles, eight aunts, and a host of close and caring cousins and lifelong friends.

He will be sorely missed by his best friend and great - nephew Zeven.
