On October 26, 2022, God called our beloved son, grandson, father, brother, uncle, cousin, companion, and wonderful friend Rodney “Ralo” Aaron Harvey home. He was born April 11, 1979 to Celestine Harvey and Sylvester Harvey in Fairfax, VA.
Ralo resided in Woodbridge, VA and worked for Bates Waste Management in Manassas, VA. He also had a passion for keeping cars in top shape and was a Master Car Detailer. He took pride in his work and made sure that you knew getting the job done mattered to him.
Ralo was a free spirited, kind, and genuine soul who helped any and everyone around him. He brought joy to everyone he encountered and made it known that he deeply cared for his children, family, and friends. He enjoyed dancing, laughing, going to the racetrack with his father, eating crabs, taking his sons to the barbershop, and bowling. If Ralo wasn’t calling you at 2am asking you what you’re doing and if you’re alright; knowing people are sleeping at that hour, he would text you a video clip of a Go-Go band or leave you a lengthy voicemail. He would also occasionally pop up on family members in the early mornings or when you least expect someone to be visiting no matter the distance. He enjoyed spending time with two of his closest friends William “Jawill” Poyner and Rodney Martin. Ralo showed love like Jesus loves us.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: beloved parents Celestine and Sylvester Harvey of Woodbridge, VA; two daughters: Ta’Jah Martin of Laurel, MD, Halo Pate of Germantown, MD; two sons: Justin McMillian and Josiah Harvey both of Woodbridge, VA. He was also a father figure to Jerrett Hagler and Richard Murray of Woodbridge, treating and introducing them as his own. Also surviving are one brother Tracey Harvey (Teresa) of Fredericksburg, VA, two sisters: Stacey Harvey of Dumfries, VA and Stephanie Harvey of Dale City, VA; three nephews: Rinaldo Douglas of Berkley, WV, DeAntwan Williams of Stafford, VA, Jordan Harvey of Davenport, FL, and DeAvohn Bumbrey of Dumfries, three nieces: Chantel Harvey of King George, Brittany Harvey of Lakeland, FL, and Jessica Harvey of Davenport, FL; ten aunts: Clara Choates (Pieces), Peggy Shanklin (William), Jean Shanklin (Charlie), Lorraine Washington (Vincent), Beatrice Smith (Wanzer), Felicia Pratt, Connie Morris (Fred), Meschel Blackson, Minister Kim Frye and Melissa Frye; four uncles: Lloyd T. Harvey, Jr., Robert Harvey (Laura), Minister George Frye (Monica), Floyd Harvey (Carolyn); two great-nieces, three great-nephews and a host of cousins and friends.
