Robert W. Jackson, son of the late Calvin and Cora B. Jackson, was born July 1, 1953 in Westmoreland County, Va. He entered eternal rest on Saturday, August 28, 2004 at Inova Alexandria Hospital in Alexandria, VA., following a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Robert was educated in the public school system of Westmoreland County. He accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Grant's Hill Baptist Church, Leedstown, Va. ''Fat Jack'' was a warm personable, high energetic and a very positive individual. He alway wore a smile on his face and his friendly and generous nature brightened the lives of those he came in contact with. ''Brown Bomber'' was a very generous person, constantly putting the needs of his family, friends and community first.
Robert was a dedicated employee with the City of Alexandria (TES Maintenance). He dearly loved his job and took great pride in wearing his uniform. For his outstanding attendance, driving performance and dedication he received several awards.
Talking on the CB radio was one of his favorite hobbies, where his friends referred to him as ''Brown Bomber''. Affectionately he was also called by his family and friends ''Fat Jack'' and ''Bob''. He answered to all of them. Other hobbies he enjoyed was playing and watching various sports, fishing and hunting.
On April 28, 1979, Robert was united in holy matrimony to Audrey Mae Green known to many as ''Mae Gal'' God blessed this union with three sons, Irving T., Robert O., and Vondell D. in which Irving and Robert preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted wife, Audrey; one son, Vondell of Alexandria, Va.; five grandchildren, Takeria, T'Ashia, Sabra, Namon and Julius; two sisters, Ella Plowden of Bladensburg, Md.; Stephanie Jackson of Ft. Washington, Md.' five brothers, Calvin M. Jackson (Lovieta) of Lancaster, Va.; Thomas E. Jackson (Patricia) of King George, Va.; George F. Jackson of Spotsylvania, Va.; Joseph E. Jackson (Donna) of Colonial Beach, Va.;and Kevin J. Jackson (Katherine) of Woodbridge, Va.; his mother-in-law, Mary Alice Green of Colonial Beach, Va.
