Renee Bonita Dixon Newman

Renee N. Newman, was born September 11, 1950 to Ruth Sandiford in New York City and embraced with unconditional love by the late James (Pop) Sandiford. Renee worked for the 50th Precinct for 20 plus years as well as City Wide Cab. When she moved to Virginia she began to work for Geico Insurance before becoming ill.

Renee was known by many numerous names Nee Boo, Auntie, Aunt Nee, Aunt Renee, and so very many more. She was a very giving and genuine person to those who had the pleasure to know her personally. She wanted honesty at all times and would at times get you in your feelings but you knew she was doing everything out of love and would then check on you later to make sure that you where okay.

Renee had a passion for gambling at any casino she could get to. She was a true bargain shopper at all times. At times she was told by family and friends that she could no longer shop anywhere that had red or brown shirts due to having way to many she never had the pleasure of wearing. She was always heard jingling before you saw her with all the bangles and bracelets she sported at all times. On occasions she would say she could not leave home with out her jewelry, eyelashes, and red nail polish.

Renee received her angelic wings on May 3, 2015 after a very hard fight of numerous illnesses. She is survived by her loving husband Terry Newman of 18 years; a step son Terrance . A beloved Aunt Clarissa Spence-Clark, three brothers Keith Dixon, Eric and David Sandiford; three nieces Jaleesa, Elena, and Laura and three nephews David Jr, Leon, and Lamont. Along with a god daughter Kim (Jeff) Marsh and god son Demont (Ashley) Alexander. A host of numerous sister in laws, brother in laws, cousins, dear friends, and loved ones.

Renee was a true blessing to many and will be greatly missed by all that had the pleasure to be a part of her life and her a part of yours. Though she is gone in body she is in each and every one of our hearts and souls.
