Rebecca Elizabeth Fortune

Rebecca Elizabeth Fortune, affectionately known as Becky, daughter of the late Robert Fortune and Martha Jones Fortune, was born on December 15, 1941 in Chance, VA. She departed this life on October 3, 2020, at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.
Rebecca was raised in Essex County, Virginia before moving to Washington D.C., and attended Washington D.C. public schools. Rebecca made Washington, DC her home and worked for the federal government, the Internal Revenue Service, completing 33 years of dedicated service before retiring.
Rebecca loved pets and loved to travel, often taking cruises with her friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory her siblings; two brothers Robert E. Fortune (Ruth), her twin Thomas Fortune, and her only sister Ida F. Jeter, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
