Ralph L. Johnson

Ralph Leon Johnson “Sonny” passed on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at his home in Dahlgren, Virginia. He was born on May 7, 1937 to the late James Jasper and Irma Harris Johnson.

Ralph accepted Christ early in life under the leadership of the late Rev. George Carter at Little Ark Baptist Church. Later in life he rededicated his life to Christ under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. John W. Chapman, Sr. He remained a member of Little Ark until his passing.

He married the love of his life, Eula Romaine Brown, on January 3, 1959. Together they enjoyed 65 years of marriage.

Ralph enlisted into the United States Navy in 1955 serving until 1959, aboard the USS SARATOGA CVA-60. While in service, he received his GED certificate.

In December 1969, Ralph suffered a work-related accident. Consequently, he wanted to increase his job skills and decided to attend Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center in Fishersville, Virginia. There he earned a certificate for two years of study in Radio and Television Repair. He worked, owned and operated Action Electronics TV Repair in Fredericksburg, Virginia for 37 years, retiring in July 2010.

Ralph liked all types of music, especially Country and Western. He won several trophies as a team and individual bowler and playing pinochle.

Ralph leaves to cherish his memories: his wife Eula Romaine; five brothers: James “Junebug” Johnson (Phyllis), Theodore “Totsy” Johnson (Carol), Leroy “By” Johnson (Ann), Charles “Eddie Boy” Johnson, and Alonza “Petey” Johnson (Kim); two sisters: Thelma Cooper and Lois Harley; two brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.
