Precious Renee Jones, affectionately known as Bebop, the daughter of Robin Jones Brooks and the late Prince Jones was born on August 26, 1992 in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Bebop was raised by her mother and stepfather, Anthony "Citti" Brooks from the age of 1 years old. On Wednesday, June 4, 2014, while family and friends stood at her bedside, the angles came to the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland to take her from her earthly home to her heavenly home.
Bebop received her education in the Stafford County School System where she studied Culinary Arts. She graduated from High School with a 4.0 GPA and received a full scholarship to a culinary institution in North Carolina, which she declined when her mother was diagnosed with kidney failure. She chose to stay at home and be her mother's caregiver. Precious continued her education through on line classes in order to pursue a degree in Culinary Management.
Bebop loved to go to church. At the age of 6, she would get herself up and dressed to get on a community church van to attend service. Precious would always say "Bye mommy and daddy, I'm going to church. I will pray for y'all." Bebop accepted Christ at the age of 9 and was baptized at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She re-dedicated her life to Christ when the Brooks family began attending Third Mt. Zion Baptist Church in 2004.
Bebop enjoyed cooking, reading, writing, knitting and dancing, but most of all just being with family. She was always planning a family reunion. Bebop was the family's peace maker and was always making the family hug one another. Bebop loved children and had the biggest heart full of patience.
She was diagnosed with stage 4 bone cancer on November 8, 2013. Bebop always held on to and continuously told her family…"God doesn't make mistakes, I'm going to beat this cancer and rock the house with my testimony." Bebop never complained about her illness except when it interfered with her taste buds. She loved good food and kept her television tuned in to The Food Network.
Precious met her fiancé, Robert Waller, while working at Walmart. They together gave life to 2 beautiful boys, Demetrius (Meechie) and Demarius (Marley) Waller. In addition to her sons, she leaves to cherish her memory, her parents Citti and Robin Brooks, her maternal grandfather, Charles Hooks, her fiance, Robert (Rob) Waller, her five sisters, Princess Jones, Tonise Brooks, Toneah Roberson, Treasure Jones, and Mia Amos; five brothers, Raewkon Allen, Otis Jones, Allaheye Jones, Gehova Jones, and Justice Jones; three nieces, Sanai Berryman, Ni'asia Berryman, Keniyah Roberson and one nephew, Kendrez Roberson along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She also leaves a very special aunt, Renee Hooks who along with her son Jordan Hooks moved from New Jersey when Bebop was diagnosed in order to be her caregiver. Jordan always called his cousin Bebop his twin. A loving a caring friend that Bepop introduced as her brother Nijay Terrell.
