Minnie E Johnson

Minnie Eflin Johnson was born to the late Andrew Moore and Anna W. Johnson in the Newtown area of King and Queen County on June 30, 1922. She was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 13, 2015 in Tappahannock, Virginia. A born again Christian, Minnie accepted Christ at an early age at First Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Newtown, Virginia and moved her membership to Jerusalem Baptist Church in Sparta in 1941 where she remained an active member until her health began to fail.
A woman of strong convictions and a tough love attitude, she could always be counted on to tell you the truth whether you wanted to hear it or not. She loved homemaking and her house was filled with homemade quilts, doilies, blankets, and the like. She was known for her cooking and baking and was always ready to feed you if you were hungry. She served her church well with her "can do" attitude and was a member of Jerusalem's Pastor's Aid Ministry and Missionary Ministry for over 70 years.
Minnie Johnson married the late Harold W. Johnson on November 2, 1940 and to that union 4 children were born. She leaves to celebrate her life, 2 daughters: Thelma J. Latney of Ft. Washington, Maryland and Sheila J. Morton (Jessie) of Newtown, Virginia; and 2 sons: Harold W Johnson, Jr of Newtown and Manuel E. Johnson (Edith) of King George, Virginia. She also leaves precious memories for her 10 grandchildren: Tisch, Kit, Elgie, Kim, Vangie, Jessie, Corey, Mannie, Patrick and Brandon; 12 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; a brother in-law, Jessie Tilman; sisters in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
