Mildred Virginia Clark ,daughter of the late John H. and Lillian Rollins Attaway was born on August 15, 1934 in Port Royal, Va. She departed this life after a brief illness on February 8, 2004 at Greater Southeast Hospital, Washington, D. C.
She was joined in holy matrimony to the late James Edward Jerome Clark of Mt. Olive, N.C. From this union, four sons were born. Mildred worked various jobs, where she cared for the elderly and cleaned various homes in the Metropolitan area. She was an avid listener of WOL 1450 radio where she became a member of the Fun Bunch radio audience. Even though her sight had failed her, she never gave up her determination to do for herself and not depend on others. She loved to eat, especially coconut pineapple cake. She was a special lady who had a great knowledge of her family history and often shared special moments with others. She leaves to cherish her memory four sons, Jerome, Ricky, Argentina and Liberace; two brothers, Robert of New York, James of Washington, D. C.; a sister, Josephine Cooper of Washington, D. C.; sister-in-law, Margaret Bizzell of Ft. Washington, Md.; two grandchildren, Rodney and Jerome; four great-grandchildren; a devoted cousin, Mabel Lomax and niece, Bernice Lawson; other nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
