On November 9, 2013 God called Michael Bailey home.
Michael Darnell Bailey was born on September 19, 1961 to the late Edward and Lillian Bailey. He graduated from King George High School in 1980 and sought a future in the United States Army, serving his country with pride until 1989. Before leaving for the military he married Constella McDowney on March 19, 1983. Michael was stationed in both, Germany and Georgia, for most of his military career.
Michael was employed with PD&E at Dahlgren, VA. He had two sons, Michael, Jr. and Cedric. His life was simple but full of joy and love. Family was at the fore front of it all. Michael was a fixture of Colonial Beach Dragway, you would have thought he was the owner, for he knew how the operation was run. He enjoyed hunting and watching western. Both Mike and Connie were very meticulous, everything was always in perfect order with them doing things together, so it was ideal for God to call them together. Hall's Supermarket will never be the same again on a Saturday morning. Whenever you saw one, you knew the other was nearby.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his sons, Michael and Cedric Bailey, his pride and joy; grandkids Demarian and Jasiah; brothers and sisters, Pam (Bailey) Cole (Raymond), Port Royal, VA; Edward Bailey (Brenda), King George, VA; Ernest Bailey, King George, VA; Barnita (Bailey) Byrd (Cliff), King George, VA; Florence (Bailey) "Sissy" Ball (Bryan), Dahlgren, VA; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Larry McDowney (Faye), King George, VA Kent McDowney, Woodbridge, VA; Lisa (McDowney) Sharpe (Michael), Richmond, VA; Quincy McDowney (Tina), Richmond, VA; Aretha McDowney, King George, VA; Linda Pratt, King George, VA; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. Two very special people, Raymond "Ron" Cole and Patricia "Pat" Jackson.
No one can prepare you for a loss; it comes like a swift wind. But take comfort in knowing that Mike and Connie are now resting in the arms of our Lord. When we lose a loved one here on earth, we gain angels in heaven that watches over us. A person that departs from this earth never truly leaves, for they are still alive in our hearts and minds, through us, they will forever live on.
