Michael Anthony Bumbrey was born in Fredericksburg, VA on January 18, 1981 to Stanley G. Bumbrey and the late Linda J. Bumbrey. He departed this life on December 27, 2022 at his home in King George, VA.
The youngest of three children, Michael made King George County, VA his lifetime home. He was christened at Shiloh (New Site) Baptist church at a young age. He was affectionately called “Daddy,” “Mike,” “Mikey,” “Mick,” “Bumbeeda,” or “Uncle Mike” by his immediate family members.
He received his elementary and secondary education in King George Public Schools. Michael performed a variety of jobs, but the two careers that he loved the most were driving using his Class B CDL license primarily to drive dump trucks and his time caring for horses at a local horse farm.
Mike enjoyed cooking large meals for and spending time with family, especially his children. He also loved animals and landscaping. His family was never surprised to come home to a new pup/dog, tarantula, python, boa constrictor, turtle, parakeet, iguana, rabbit or chicken. He loved watching nature programs and sports. He especially cherished football and cheering on (or yelling at) the Washington Redskins/Commanders.
Michael leaves to cherish his memory: his father, Stanley G. Bumbrey; his son, Day’von X. Bumbrey; his daughter, A’munique C. Bumbrey; his sister, Leslie B. Weldon; his brother, Clifton A. Bumbrey; his nieces and nephews: Adrienne Franks (Andrew), Candice N. Bumbrey, A. Justin Weldon, Trevor S. Bumbrey, Breona M.
