Melvin Lewis Vaughan departed his life on March 2nd, 2014 at Retreat Hospital. He was born April 30th, 1941 in Owenton, Virginia to the late Charlie and Louise Vaughan. He attended King and Queen Public Schools. At an early age He joined First Mount Olive Baptist Church, Newtown, Virginia. He was joined in holy matrimony to the late Molly Hill and they were blessed with three children.
Melvin was preceded in death by his wife Molly Hill, his parents Charlie and Louise, his son Charles, his daughter Marie, two brothers Ralph and James, also a special friend Georgetta Johnson.
Melvin was employed with his father in logging before employing with the Fogg Brothers and retiring. He loved music, dancing, driving his vehicle and fishing.
Melvin leaves to cherish his many fond memories four daughters: Tonya Vaughan and Laura Hill of Baltimore, Maryland; Joanne Johnson of Burke, Virginia and Justeen Mason of Richmond, Virginia. Two sisters: Michelle Vaughan of Richmond, Virginia and Margret Allen of Maryland. Special neices and nephews: Kim, Boobie, Gerrard, Mosiah, Tyquan, Tydasia, LJ, Cee and Modesty. Nieces: Brenda, Monica, Nickie. Nephews: Samuel and Spankie; Nineteen Grandchildren and Five Great grandchildren; Two Daughter in Laws: Delanie Vaughan of North Carolina and Susie Harvey of St. Stephen church, Virginia. Three brothers in laws: Ernest and Walker Hill of St. Stephens Church, Virginia and Ruffin Hill Of Baltimore, Maryland; Devoted friends: Nancy Russell and Peter Young; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. He also leaves behind his caregivers: Bunch and Joanne.
