Mattie L. Trent

Mattie L.Trent of Philadelphia, PA. went to her heavenly home on January 19, 2009, at Brighten Nursing Home of Bryn Mawr, PA. following a lengthly illness.

She was born on June 22, 1919 in Aylett, VA and was the youngest of six children. Mattie joined Providence Baptist Church at an early age and was a life long member of the church. She obtained her education in the public schools in King William County, VA. Ms. Trent worked faithfully for the Pentagon in Arlington, VA until she moved to Philadelphia to care for her ailing mother, Nellie. Mattie was an excellent housekeeper at the Brass Rail Airport Motel at The Philadelphia International Airport for many years.

Ms. Trent is preceded in death by her parents, Nellie Rucker Trent and Willie Trent of Aylett, VA and also her siblings, Ariela Broadwater, Mozell, Brownie, Clarence and Andrew Rucker.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her nephew, Elwood Rucker (Doris) of Philadelphia, PA, a niece, Jeanne Watson of St. Paul, MN., Agnes Stridiron of Philadelphia, PA., great nephew, Bransford Lewis (Jeff) of Minneapolis, MN., Traci Bullock (Russell) of Brooklyn, NY., great grand nephews Anthony David Vail, Lamar Ray, Edward Lewis, Russell Bullock, Jr., and great grand niece Rose Bullock, godson Rev. Kenneth Robinson of Philadelphia, PA. and a host of other relatives and friends.
