Mary M. Harris

Mary Madeline Harris was born December 28, 1924 in Terrytown, Georgia to the late Eddie and Ella Love. She was one of five children, two sons and three daughters.

She departed this life on Monday, February 18, 2013 at St. Thomas More Medical Complex, Hyattsville, Maryland.

She attended Public School in the state of Georgia.

Mary moved to Washington, DC in 1946. She worked at Soldier Home in Washington, DC for several years. She joined Bible Way Temple in 1970; she loved to talk about her church and the Lord. She enjoyed attending the Community Center during the day. She was faithful to her church until she became ill in December 2011.

Mary married Wallace Harris of Terrytown, Georgia. They were blessed with six children, Wallace, Jr., Elinder Mitchell, Noland, Roland, Kimball and Kelly Harris.

Mary leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Elinder Mitchell of Baltimore, MD, five sons, Wallace, Jr. (Mary) of New, Carrollton, MD, Noland (Hazel) of King George, VA, Roland of Baltimore, MD, Kimball of Washington DC, Kelly of Columbia, MD; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great grandsons; four sister-in-laws, Juanita Hardin of Washington, DC, Fernarine Hunter of California, Esther Pearl Higginbolham of Temple Hills, MD, and Hessie Mae Harris of Washington, DC; one brother-in-law, Mack Higginbolham of Temple Hills, MD; and a host of neices, nephews and other relatives and friends.
