Mary J. Randolph

Mary Jane Randolph was born on March 2, 1922 to the late Spencer and Ruth Whiting. She was called home in a peaceful slumber on September 29, 2004, after a brief illness at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in King George, Va.

She received her education in Caroline County. She accepted our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at an early age and attended Salem Baptist Church where she served as a faithful member until her illness.

She was joined in holy matrimony to Leonard H. Johnson, who preceded her in death. To this union, five children were born, of which, a son James E. Johnson preceded her in death.

She was later joined in holy matrimony to David Randolph who also preceded her in death.

Left with cherished memories, a daughter, Clementine L. Taylor and son-in-law Willian N. Taylor of Dahlgren, Va.; three sons, Leonard A. Johnson and friend Teresa Nowlin of Oklahoma City,Ok.; Sylvester L. Johnson and daughter-in-law Paulette of District Heights, Md; Ray I. Johnson and friend Maxine Williams of Hillcrest Heights, Md.; eight sisters, Irene Jefferson, Helen Johnson, Estell Bumbry, Winnie Pryor and Gladys Pryor all of King George; Dorothy Washington of Rappahannock Academy, Va.; Catherine McDowney of Colonial Beach, Va.; and Mabel Yancey of New Jersey; one brother, Willie G. Whiting of King George, Va.; three brothers-in-law, Wilson Jefferson, Lloyd Washington, Jr. and Freddie McDowney; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Whiting and Elizabeth Whiting; twenty eight grandchildren; fifty one great-grandchildren; twenty great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She will be truly missed by all.
