Mary Elizabeth Hudson

Mary Ely Hudson, 90, Of Fredericksburg, Virginia departed this life Thursday January 27, 2011, the day before her 91st birthday, at Golden Living Center.

Born January 28, 1921, to the late Henry and Bessie Ely, she attended Spotsylvania schools, and was baptized at an early age at Second New Hope Baptist Church, in Spotsylvania County, Virginia. Mary worked for Sunshine Laundry, and was a caregiver to many children until a massive stroke deemed her unable to do so.

She was united in holy matrimony to the late Eugene Hudson, they had no children.

Mary leaves to cherish her memory four sisters, Mattie Coleman, and Helen Walker of Spotsylvania, Virginia, Dorothy Parker of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Gertrude Pratt of Laurel, Maryland. Three brother, and two sisters preceded her in death. She also leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Mary will be greatly missed by the care givers and staff of Golden Living Center. She made her home with them for a little over 20 years.
