Mary E Broaddus

Very quietly and peacefully our Almighty God in His infinite Wisdom, gently closed the eyes of a beloved stepmother, sister and cousin, and entered into His eternal care.

Mary Ethel Holmes Broaddus was born July 30, 1919 the daughter of the late Mary Holmes Wake; she passed away, August 28, 2012. Ethel was an active member of the First Mount Olive Baptist Church until she became disabled. She served as an usher for many years.

She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Mary and Pernell Wake; her grandmother, Nannie Gray Holmes; brother Robert Wake; sister Jeraldine Braxton; cousins, Aaron Franklin Holmes, Melissa Holmes and husbands Luther Broaddus and George Broaddus.

She is survived by; stepdaughter, Dora Wall; five sisters, Ella Burke, Costella West (Alfred), Ann Leggett, Julia Johnson, Emma Jane Douglas (Luther); one brother, Billy Wake; cousins and caregivers, Thelma and Kevin Boxley, and a host of nephews, nieces, and other relatives.
