Mary Alice Green

Mary Alice Green was born on November 29, 1935 to the late Henry and Josephine Jones in Westmoreland County, VA. On Friday, April 26, 2019, God whispered to Mary Alice to come home. Affectionately known as Alice, she received her education in the Westmoreland County Public School system. Amongst working various jobs in the community, Alice welcomed everyone that she came in contact with.

At an early age, Alice accepted Christ and joined Little Zion Baptist Church under the late Rev. W. S. Devaughn and continued membership with the leadership of William B. Scott. Mary Alice was joined in Holy Matrimony on September 27, 1951 to the late James T. Green.

Alice was preceded in death by two children, Carolyn Wilson and Irving Green. She leaves to cherish her memory, her six children, James A. Green (Heidi) of Lebanon, PA, William E. Green (Janice) of Hague, VA, Audrey M. Jackson of Stafford, VA, Dorothy A. Wilson of Tappahannock, VA, Thelma Y. Cook (Preston) of Montross, VA, Diana Newton (Cecil) of Colonial Beach, VA; nine brothers and sisters, Daniel Jones (Agnes), Marvin Jones (Ella Mae), Thelma Saunders (Melvin), Rosa Marie Byrd (Thomas), William Jones, Moses Jones, Evelyn Cox, all of Colonial Beach, VA, Raymond Jones (Sue) of Stafford, VA, Joseph Jones (Sarah) of King George, VA; and one aunt, Alberta Byrd, of Colonial Beach, VA.
She also leaves, 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and special friend, Mary Hunter.
