On October 9, 2005, our hearts were saddened by the passing of our beloved Mary A. Jett
She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.
Mary was a native of Stafford, VA. She was born on December 10, 1947 in Fredericksburg, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon, Sr., and Emily Juggins, a brother James L. Juggins , and sister Gloria J. Baylor.
She was a graduate of Stafford Junior High School. She retired from Quantico Marine Base after working 38 years as the first Black female woman painter in maintenance.
Mary was a faithful member of Shiloh (Old Site) Baptist Church and a member of the Inspirational Choir. She received numerous awards for her dedication and professionalism while working at the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab and Facilities Division and Logistics Services Section. Her work served to enhance the quality of life aboard Marine Corps Base in Quantico, VA.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving and devoted husband, Thomas E. Jett of Stafford; a son, Fernando Owens of Silver Spring, MD; stepdaughters Robin Jett and Sandy Jackson; sisters Helen J. Lucas, Joyce (E. Gary) Mercer, Yvonne Johnson of Fredericksburg, VA; brothers Gordon R. Juggins, Jr. of Harrisburg, PA, Joseph W. Juggins of Washington, D. C.; brothers-in-law, Willard Baylor of Petersburg, VA, and Frankie (Edith) Jett, and sister-in-law Jacqueline Jett, all of King George, VA; and uncle Enoch (Jack) Johnson of Newark, NJ; and three grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews, cousins and dedicated friends, and devoted friends Ms. Geraldine Jackson, Mrs. Brenda Bushrod, and Mrs. Janice Davies.
