Martha Peyton Hundley

On August 6, 2018 at Mary Washington Hospital, Mrs. Martha Peyton Hundley went home to be with the Lord. She was born on March 4, 1937 in King George, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Kate Peyton Davis and Webster Jackson. She was educated in the King George County public school system. After leaving high school to raise and support her family, she later obtained her GED.

At an early age Martha was baptized and joined the Union Bethel Baptist Church. The years she was active in the church she enjoyed working and serving the Lord. She took pride in taking on the project of reupholstering the pews at no cost to the church.

She worked as an Engineer Drafts person for the Federal Government on the Naval Base in Dahlgren for 25 years. After her retirement from the government, she worked as a sales clerk for the J.T. Harris department store in the Dahlgren Shopping Center. She loved this job and had regular customers whom she loved outfitting in the latest fashions.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two of her sons, Gerald Peyton and Jeremiah Johnson. She leaves to cherish her memories five daughters, Gail Johnson, Christine Jackson, Barbara Ann Peyton all of Maryland, Geraldine Peyton of Las Vegas, NV and Erica Woodland of King George, VA. Two sons, Larry Johnson of Mont Clair, NJ and Franklin (Marilyn) Johnson of King George, Virginia. Three sisters, Lorraine Peyton and Shirley Waddy of King George, VA and Diane Peyton of Colonial Beach, VA. Seventeen grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
