Marion O. Carter departed this life on Thursday, November 20, 2008, at her residence in Bowling Green, Virginia.
Marion was born on December 29, 1939 to the late Charlie and Sudie Brown, in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Marion was educated in the North Carolina public schools.
At an early age, she joined and attended the Bethel Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New York.
Marion was married to Cornelius Carter in 1970 in Brooklyn, New York. To this union, six children were born.
Marion and Cornelius moved to Bowling Green, Virginia in 2005. Marion was a loving housewife and mother. She loved gardening, cooking, sewing and online shopping.
Marion is survived by her husband, Cornelius Carter of Bowling Green, Va; four daughters, Theresa Vargas and her husband, Rosendo of Mt. Pocono, Pa, Peggy Carter, Wendy Carter and Veronica Buie and her husband, Michael of Bowling Green, Virginia; two sons, Bobby Brown and his wife, Tasheema of Brooklyn, New York and Anthony Carter and his wife, Kwi-son of Ft. Worth, Texas; nineteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one brother, Charlie Brown, Jr of Far Rockaway, New York; three sisters, Peggy Brown of Philadelphia, Carol Spruill and Virginia Rankin and her husband, David of Brooklyn, New York; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
