Marguerite M Nelson

Marguerite Matilda Nelson was born on May 6th, 1921 in Fredericksburg, VA. She departed this life on May 15th, 2015. She was baptized at an early age at Shiloh Baptist Church Old Site in Fredericksburg, VA. She was a graduate of Spotsylvania Public Schools. For over 60 years, she was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Roscoe Nelson.
Marguerite worked at Tappahannock Pharmacy for just under 30 years and enjoyed serving and socializing with her many customers. She considered her co-workers to be family and maintained contact even after retirement. Everyone loved her, she had a heart of gold and soul of an angel. Her interests were varied and included Ballroom dancing, sewing and baking. She was well known for her baked goods. Marguerite treasured her family dearly and devoted herself to them wholeheartedly.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roscoe Nelson; two sons Julius Dale Nelson; David Nelson and A daughter Rosalind "Terry" Peterson.
She leaves to cherish fond memories a loving daughter Wendy Gray (Everett) of Tappahannock, VA; three sons William Nelson (Alma) of Tappahannock, VA; Reginald Nelson (Norma) of Chester, VA; Tyrone Nelson (Shirley) of Chester, VA; a son-in-law Melvin Peterson of Richmond, VA; two sister-in-laws Mary Hardman of Laurel, Maryland and Marguerite Henderson of Washington , DC. Nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was admired, appreciated and loved very much.
