Mallie F. Fortune

Mallie Fortune daughter of the late Ernest and Sara Fortune, born on November 17, 1914 in Hustle, Virginia, departed this life on Monday, September 13, 2010 at Belvedere Nursing Home in Chester, Pennsylvania.

Mallie joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church at a very young age; in her early teens she journeyed to the northeastern states to find life for herself. She was married briefly and from this union one daughter, Dolores Lambert was born.

She returned to Hustle, Virginia in May 1966 and she often mentioned how much she enjoyed being back in the area.


She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter Dolores Lambert of Norfolk, Va.; two grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, three sisters; Celeste Woods of Sharps, Va.; Carrie Reynolds of Champlain, VA.; and Clara Johnson of Philadelphia, Pa. and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
