Malcolm H. Gray

Malcolm Holmes Gray, son of Mary M. Gray and the late Robert O. Gray, was born in Richmond, Virginia on June 20, 1967.

On Saturday, October 8, 2011, our beloved Malcolm entered into a peaceful rest at Riverside Tappahannock Hospital.

Malcolm attended Essex County Public Schools.

Malcolm joined Antioch Baptist Church at an early age, and then later became a member of New Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where he was a faithful member of the Sr. Usher Board and Rejuvenation Gospel Chorus.

Malcolm was employed with Washington Gas for the past 10 years as Sr. Operations Tech. Malcolm loved spending time with his wife Valerie, fishing, vacationing and watching the Dallas Cowboys "win". He was preceded in death by his father Robert O. Gray and two brothers, James R. Gray and L. Wardell Gray.

He leaves to cherish fond, fond memories a loving and devoted wife Valerie M. Gray of 21 years. His mother Mary M. Gray of Champlain, VA., one sister Frances Pitts of Caroline County, VA., six brothers, Robert Gray (Muriel), Stanley Gray, Timothy Gray (Nevon), Alfred Gray (Brenda), Keith Gray, and Kelvin Gray all of Champlain VA., seven sister-in-laws, Laura Gray, Joyce Gray, Nevon Gray all of Tappahannock, VA., Brenda Gray of Champlain, VA., Eva Jackson (Gregory) of Fredericksburg, VA., Debbie Cockrell (Grayling) of Suitland, MD., Tammy Redmond of Montross, VA., six brother-in-laws, Alfonzo Straughter of Washington, DC., Webster Straughter of Fredericksburg, VA., Thomas Redomond (Jackie) of upper Marlboro, MD., Joe Redmond of Montross, VA., Lee Redmond of Forestville, MD., Maurice Redmond (Myra) of Ladysmith, VA., two uncles Leslie Holmes (Evelyn) of Hustle, VA., and William Green of Champlain, VA., one aunt, Virginia Miller of Washington DC. A host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Malcolm was also blessed with three godsons Avante' Studvent, Mark Gray, Jr., and Miles Gray, and a special friend Kenny Washington.
