Maggie Betty Fleming Waller was born on November 28, 1917 in Caroline County, Virginia, the fourth child of William E. and Bessie M. Fleming. She departed this life on March 4, 2011 after a long illness. She received her education from the public school system in Caroline County, Virginia.
At an early age, she gave her life to Christ and joined the Third Mount Zion Baptist Church, Woodford, VA, where she was baptized. She served on the Usher Board, she was a member of The Flower Club and she worked fervently as a Missionary. She was also a member of the DC Jones Club. And if you knew her, you would know that she took great pride in her cooking. Not because she loved to eat, but she received so much joy out of cooking for others, including her neighbors and church family. She was known for those home-made rolls, sweet potato pies, and fried chicken.
She was married to the late Gordon Waller before moving to Washington, DC. While in DC, she was a domestic worker and there she formed a very special bond with Celia, Kathy, and John. Aunt Mag truly loves them and they loved her back!
She leaves to cherish her memories: a loving son, George (Joetta), four grandchildren, Kisha (Darrell), George Jr., Kiahna, and Sean (Dia) and eight great-grandchildren (Briahna, Tanasha, Taliyah, Deondre, Kyree, Kevin, Gabriele, Auriele); two sisters, Trudell Oden and Mildred Fleming; one sister-in-law, Maxine Fleming; three children whom she raised from infancy, Celia (Niepold) Slater, Kathy (Niepold) Bilicki, and John Niepold; a devoted niece, Virginia Ramos (Jose); a dear friend and postman, Reverend Christopher Stevens, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
