Mabel Louise Rollins-Loma departed this life on Monday, November 25, 2013 at her home in Hustle, Virginia. She was born in Caroline County, Virginia to the late Phillip L. and Esther Baylor Rollins on May 5, 1942.
Mabel was educated in Caroline County Public Schools. She was baptized at an early age at Shiloh Baptist Church, Port Royal, Virginia. On October 24, 1969 she was united in holy matrimony to Robert G. Lomax, Sr. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her eldest brother, Phillip R. Rollins and stepmother, Mary Louise Rollins.
Mabel leaves to cherish her memories her devoted husband of 44 years, Robert (Bobby); five daughters, Linda Rollins Washington (Michael) of Spotsylvania, Virginia, Paulette Ware, Tara R. Coleman (William), Adrienne C. Lomax all of Hustle, Virginia and Jamillah D. Jones (Don) of Loretto, Virginia; two sons, Yoshawn Rollins and Robert G. Lomax, Jr. of Hustle, Virginia; three sisters, devoted and loving Roberta D. Rollins of King George, Virginia, Stephanie Faye Reed of Washington, D.C., Deborah Brooks of Upper Marlboro, Maryland; three brothers, William Rollins of Milford, Virginia, Delano Rollins, Sr. of Fredericksburg, Virginia and James Rollins of Annandale, Virginia; four brothers-in-law, Richard Brooks of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Charles Davis Lomax, Frank Lomax and Russell Junior Lomax who was like her son and devoted best friend all from Hustle, Virginia; five sisters-in-law, Pauline Lomax of Bowling Green, Virginia, Marion Lomax of Arlington, Virginia, Fraulein Rollins of Milford, Virginia, Bernadette Rollins of Fredericksburg, Virginia and Janice Rollins of Annandale, Virginia; stepfather, Alfred Reed of Dahlgren, Virginia; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two godsons, Rodney Richards and Chris O'Neal and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a special friend, Frances (Tootie) Smith.
Mabel was very loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, godmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend who will be greatly missed by all.
To her family she had a heart full of love, comfort and compassions. She was never too busy nor tired to care for her family. She had a beautiful smile that you would never see her without, she touched many hearts. Mabel loved to cook and was still always ready to go out to eat. You could always find her cleaning or washing clothes anytime of the day or night. Her life here on earth was very good, but her walk with God in paradise will be even better.
