Lucille Maricha Jordan

WHO CAN FIND A VIRTUOUS WOMAN? FOR HER PRICE IS FAR ABOVE RUBIES. Proverbs 31:10
Lucille Maricha Jordan, daughter of the late Naomi and David Jett, Sr. was born April 21,1926 in Welcome, Va. in King George. She departed this life into a peaceful rest on Wednesday March 26 2003 at 12:20 a.m. at her home in Dahlgren, Va; surrounded by her loving family. She received her education from the King George Training School at Edgehill, Va. She was united in Holy Matrimony to James Lewis Jordan. From this union, seven daughters were born. She was preceded in death by her sister Patricia L. Brooks. At an early age, she gave her life to Christ and joined the Salem Baptist Church where she was a faithful and devoted member until her health began to fail. She had a special love for her Salem Baptist Church Family. She served faithfully on the Kitchen Committee until her health began to fail.
She was employed early in life as a caregiver and later became a cook in area restaurants. She returned to her first love, caregiving and cared for children in her home.
She loved to cook and share special dishes from her personal recipe collections with family and friends. In addition, she enjoyed teaching others her cooking techniques. For the past three years she looked forward to her quarterly tea parties with her daughters, granddaughters and nieces which brought her much joy. She loved to work searchword puzzles and spend quality time with her family. She also had a green thumb and could bring a seemingly dead plant back to life. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her loving hospitality was extended to all who entered her home as she never met a stranger. She could always say something to make you laugh.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, James L. Jordan of King George, Va; her daughters, Loretta Y. Buckner John, Arlene D. Davis, Vernice D. Johnson, Brenda L., Leslie A. , Vickie L. , and Maricha L. Jordan all of Dahlgren, Va; ten grandchildren, Shawn N. Buckner of Dahlgren, Va; John A.
