Lora C. Brown

We meet in gratitude and in sorrow to reflect on the life of Lora Consuela Brown. Lora was born on July 19, 1968 to her parents, the late Emmett Cox Jr. and Evelyn Victoria Cox in Westmoreland County, VA.

Lora grew up and was educated in the Westmoreland County Public School System, where she graduated in 1988. Lora accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Little Zion Baptist Church. Under the leader ship of the late Rev. William B. Scott Lora joined Young Adult Choir and used her singing abilities to the Glory of God.

On April 13, 1998 Lora was united in Holy matrimony to Frederick Anthony Brown. From this union four children were born. Anthony lovingly accepted Lora's daughter Tynicia as his own.

Late in the evening on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Mary Washington Hospital, Fredericksburg, VA, Lora finished her earthly duties and quietly passed into eternal rest with the Lord with her loving family at her side. Our beloved Lora was a beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Raising her children was her biggest accomplishment in life. She loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grandson Isiah.

She leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband of 13 years, Frederick Anthony Brown, Sr., her children Tynicia (Andrew), Frederick Jr., Taneiya, Arve, & Jeremiah, all of the home; one grandson, Isiah also of the home; mother, Evelyn Victoria Cox of the home; one brother, Emmett Cox III of Colonial Beach; one sister, Terry Davis of King George; In-laws, James and Maggie Brown of King George; Two brother-in-laws; Rodney, Gary (Sandra), Two sister-in-laws; Christy (Willard) of Spotsylvania, & Angela of King George; Six uncles, Marvin (Ella Mae), Joseph (Sara), Dan (Agnes), Moses (Joyce), & William all of Colonial Beach; Raymond (Jean) of Stafford; Three aunts, Thelma (Melvin); Rosa Marie (Tom), & Mary Alice all of Colonial Beach. Special Loved Ones: Tobin Peyton, Lisa Byrd, Joyce Wood, Dianna Newton, Donna Jackson, Raphael, Jennifer Henry, William Jones Jr., Diana Ashton, Sandy Hayes, Blanche Hickman, Barbara Smith, Tanya Estep, Lavita Cobb & Lawanda Smith. Godchildren; Sharricka Brown, Derrick Jones, & Eric Jones and a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
