Lizzie L. Banks

Lizzie L. Banks, the daughter of the late Percy and Odessa Johnson, entered into eternal peace on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at the Riverside Convalescent Center in West Point, Virginia. She was born April 3, 1935 in King & Queen County.

She joined the First Mount Olive Baptist Church at an early age and remained a faithful member until she transferred her membership to the New Morning Star Baptist Church where she served faithfullly until her health declined. She was educated in the Public School of King & Queen County. Lizzie had a loving and caring heart. She was best known for her home cooked meals, especially her coconut pies and cakes.

Lizzie was joined in marriage to the late Philip Banks. God blessed them with five children, two who preceded her in death, Percy C. Banks and Charles P. Banks, both of King & Queen County.

She leaves to cherish her memories, a loving daughter, Jacqueline H. Banks of St. Stephens Church, two sons, Derrick B. Banks of Ashland, Va and John W. Banks of Richmond, Va; nine grandchildren, Tracy R. Banks, Percy C. Banks, Jr., Derrick B. Banks, Jr., Latia M. Banks, Shandell R. Banks, Derika A. Banks, Philip Thomas Banks, Keith L. Travers, Jr and Tiffany Powell; five great grandchildren; one daugher-in-law, Gay H. Banks of Ashland, Va; four sisters-in-law, Elizabeth(Richard)Greene, Dorothy Kellam, Louise Scott and Queen E. Johnson; and a hosts of nieces, nephews, cousins and two devoted frinds, Lucille Bagby and Regina W. Fields.
